About Our Charity
The Wolf Dog Workshop is an initiative developed by Wolf Dog Art and Education (WDAE)--a charitable organization fiscally sponsored by the non-profit organization Fractured Atlas. WDAE is based in New York City and has been serving educators, students, and communities in the US and abroad since 2015.
The Wolf Dog Workshop has been used by over 1 million students in k-12 public schools, private schools, charter schools and after school programs in the United States and across India.
Our efforts include providing our curriculum to students in underserved communities.
More About the Curriculum
The Wolf Dog Workshop uses as a model the story writing and storytelling experience of the creator of an animated film called Wolf Dog Tales.
Wolf Dog Tales includes ancient wisdoms of what animals teach us about respecting life and the earth.
As students follow the story writing path of the writer of this animated film, they discover their own voices as story writers as they write their own stories. Likewise, as the writer of Wolf Dog Tales shares her experience in storytelling her story using animation, students learn to story tell their stories using a variety of approaches. The workshop ends with a storytelling celebration in which many classes have chosen to share their stories with parents and community members.
The curriculum includes structured and unstructured activities, allowing for critical and creative thinking, as well as group and independent tasks, presenting opportunities for independent and collaborative peer-to-peer learning.
Wolf Dog Workshiop is currently being used to develop literacy skills among both "native" English language speakers, as well as students who are English language learners (ELL).
